I've always interpreted that song as being related to the thing about light being both a wave and a particle anyway. "Is he a dot or is he a speck"? And if he's light, it makes sense that he'd get defeated by a triangle man:

Particle Man is weak to Triangle Man's weapon? So he is a Mega Man boss!

There's also a Universe Man and a Person Man in the song.

Person Man also gets beaten by Triangle Man. There's no mention of Universe Man fighting anyone - in fact, he's "usually kind to smaller man" - but in an official music video for the song, he beats up Particle Man anyway.
