Well here on Windows we can use AltGr with the vowels and get áéíóú!

Windows doesn't have AltGr with US keyboard layouts; they just have alt+numpad character codes. Although I think some programs let you do things like Ctrl+' and then a vowel to get an accent.
(At least, this was true as of last time I used Windows, which was XP.)

i'm back to windows on my home PC after like 6 years of kubuntu, but i've always been on my work computer

the US-INT has some fun codes to get accents but yeah it's hard out here
