Yes, just to reiterate: VOTING ENDS AND RESULTS GO UP FRIDAY MORNING. If you haven't sent in your votes, kindly do so by then. As with the previous incarnations, submissions whose submitter doesn't vote will be disqualified, even if they are nice tunes.

When there's no theme, makes the voting so difficult.

Alright, the results are in! Unfortunately two of our eleven entries were disqualified as the submitters never got their votes in. This leaves the question of whether to use modified scoring open for now; I ran the numbers both ways, just for the sake of it, and there was no change in the final result. This crab clawed its way to the rim of the bucket entirely on its own merits - ladies and gentlemen and whoever else, please extend a big hand (or a normal-sized one, if you're not some kind of lab mutant with monster paws) to quasijem and "Shia LaBeouf," plus a nod to immediate runners-up somitomi and orangedragonfire! Full results below - quasijem, the next round's yours!

Code: Select all

quasijem Shia LaBeouf 59.0: 10 10 8 4 -- 6 3 9 9
orangedragonfire A Princess with a Secret 56.0: 9 -- 3 9 9 4 9 3 10
commodorejohn Opus No. 1 27.0: 2 2 1 6 3 -- 1 8 4
ratammer Green Green 51.0: 8 5 9 7 1 8 -- 7 6
SuperJedi224 Exogenesis 37.0: 5 1 -- 3 8 9 4 5 2
Suzaku We Will Meet Again 53.0: 7 9 6 10 4 2 8 4 3 (disqualified)
pulsar512b PMA 56.0: 3 6 7 8 6 3 6 10 7 (disqualified)
patzer Pirate in a Box 14.0: 1 3 2 -- 2 1 2 2 1

The theme for the next round is songs that aren't made in isolation*! Not a very catchy name, but if your song is a parody, is part of another piece of art (e.g. part of a movie soundtrack or musical or video game), is a fan song, or just references something else a lot, it fits! It could be from one of your favourite movies, or it could be that catchy tune that plays in a boss battle.
*the song can be made during covid-isolation

DM me any fitting song you want until next Saturday (countdown) including title/artist, link and what it references, parodies or is from, and I'll then list the submissions for voting!

Woo! Here's the music for round 2, whose theme is "songs not made in isolation"!

Remember that people who submitted songs must vote, but anyone can submit a vote!

EZ4ENCE - by The Verkkars. Heavily references CSGO team ENCE.
The Hard Way - by Eben Brooks. Written in response to "Hey There Delilah".
Where You Are - from Moana by Disney.
All For The Best - from Godspell by Stephen Schwartz.
Raisin Us Higher - from Clone High's musical episode. Also references other things in the rock opera-concept album-animated musical triangle.
Michael in the Bathroom - from Be More Chill, featuring George Salazar.

You have a week to submit votes! (countdown)
(All links are direct to youtube. Sorted by length of song name.)

FYI: Jem has just informed me by other means that their laptop is broken and their forum password is stored on it, so it may be a while until they can do the contest results.

OK, the theme for the next round is dance. Whether it's a song about a dance or about dancing, or a song that has a well-known dance of its own, just as long as you don't just submit any song on the basis that "you can dance to it"! :P Deadline is 25th October!
