Title text: Increasing-precision timestamps are the Jaws theme of incident reports.

Vague timestamps can also be ominous. "The incident happened some time between 1940 and 1980, according to most theories."
Diana, madge's ratwife, any pronouns

I'm watching the first episode of all different cartoons!

The Wikipedia article on the Chernobyl disaster has a long, detailed section describing the accident, which basically does timestamps roughly according to this comic, but says "The subsequent course of events was not registered by instruments" (and also "It was not possible to reconstruct the precise sequence of the processes that led to the destruction of the reactor") right before describing what the explosions probably were without any timestamps. And there's an entire section about an alternate hypothesis by some Russian nuclear scientist.
