Little curious about the icons next to the topics, specifically the little flame outside the circle. I recall the flame inside it means a "hot topic" by whatever standards the forum has, but this other is new to me.

Little curious about the icons next to the topics, specifically the little flame outside the circle. I recall the flame inside it means a "hot topic" by whatever standards the forum has, but this other is new to me.

When you choose to create a thread - or even a post - there is an option to give it a post icon, above where you choose the subject. That's where that flame came from. I think it was an option on the old xkcd forum but I'm not certain.
