I doubt the missile launch which occurred between panels two and three was accidental. However it does seems odd that they didn't fire the fellow who launched it either intentionally or by accident. Maybe he got a stern warning and a note was temporarily put in his file.

I am such a fan of Beret Guy. And I agree that this is similar to his reaction to nature in Winter. He has such an wonderful take on reality. Makes me wonder what his version/vision of Plato's cave would be like.
